TALLINN OPEN Invitation 2016

This is the most important youth wrestling tournament in Estonia and has become the largest wrestling tournament in Europe. The 2015 tournament saw 1392-wrestlers from 16-countries and 156-clubs participating in Greco-Roman, Freestyle and Female wrestling.

The 2016 TALLINN OPEN takes place 1-3 April 2016 at Saku Suurhall, the largest indoor arena in the Baltics. Following the competition  – the 4-day TALLINN OPEN International Wrestling Training Camp takes place 4-7 April, 2016 and awaits 80-100 wrestlers (ages 10-18) at KORRUS3 – Tallinn’s „Wrestling Centre of Excellence“. This fully equipped four mat facility is the largest permanent wrestling facility in the Baltics.

The “TALLINN OPEN – Kristjan Palusalu Youth Wrestling Tournament” honours Estonia’s most famous athlete Kristjan Palusalu – who won heavyweight gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling.
