The “TALLINN OPEN – Kristjan Palusalu Youth Wrestling Tournament” honours Estonia’s most famous athlete Kristjan Palusalu – who won heavyweight gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling.
TALLINN OPEN is the largest wrestling tournament in Europe. The 2016 tournament saw 1757-wrestlers from 21-countries and 184-teams participating in Greco-Roman, Freestyle and Female wrestling on 16-mats.

The 2017 TALLINN OPEN takes place march 31 to April 2, 2017 at Saku Suurhall, the largest indoor arena in the Baltics.
Following the competition – the 4-day TALLINN OPEN International Wrestling Training Camp takes place 3-6 April, 2017. The 2016 camp attracted 130 wrestlers from Norway, Sweden, Finland, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Belgium, Ukraine, Russia, France, USA and Estonia. The 2017 camp awaits 130 wrestlers (ages 10-18) at KORRUS3 – Tallinn’s „Wrestling Centre of Excellence“. This fully equipped four mat facility is the largest permanent wrestling facility in the Baltics and is home to Estonia´s National teams.
